The locket can physically hold and protect something of value, sentimental or physical, or simply act as a vessel to later fill or empty. The Chainmaille necklace is a heavy hand-soldered link chain with a sculpted heart-pointed arrow toggle closure. A study in mechanised strength, repetition and singularity. The script on the back of the locket reads: SPLINTER a feather grows / a wings, water’s edge / returns a body / forgotten LIMB / moves, a brutal / wanting by your hand this matter / is formed open / rest / turn again / body apart / curdling / a feathered thought, logic strains.
