We believe in minimal washing. Our garments can often be refreshed and deodorised simply by hanging outside to air for 12 to 24 hours. This is especially true of our Merino jersey styles. For dark colours, we suggest hanging in shade or airing at night to avoid colours lightning in prolonged sunshine. Silk styles are sensitive to sunlight so we recommending airing these out at night to avoid colours lightening.

Many of our pieces are Dry Clean only. We suggest limiting Dry Cleaning to the event of a stain, otherwise an airing out should suffice.

We enjoy handwashing. Like many aspects of caring for garments, it can be rewarding and meditative. We like have a simple steel tub devoted to the task. Many common detergents contain endocrine disrupting chemicals. We find a simple liquid castile soap is an inexpensive and effective substitute. We suggest drying all our Merino jersey styles flat on a dry towel.

A small portion of our line is machine washable. We always suggest a cold, delicate cycle with a natural detergent. To preserve your garments for as long as possible, we strongly encourage drying on the line over tumble drying.

Beyond the above, our indispensable tools are a lint roller and a steamer. All our wool styles benefit from a quick lint rolling before setting out for the. We find a handheld steamer to be handier than an iron for our garments. Steam garments on their hangers. Slip a sheer stocking over steamer heads prone to spitting. More delicate fabrics, like silk, should be steamed from a conservative distance, while hardy fabrics like wool can be steamed closely and vigorously. A battery powered lint shaver is a nonessential nice-to-have, but any inexpensive razor without a moisturising strip can do the same job in a pinch.
