EVERYDAY WEAR

Remove your jewelry when cleaning, bathing and sleeping, and always keep away from any source of heat. Avoid direct contact with water and chemical products. Chlorine, make-up, soap, perfume and hair-spray may dull the finish of your jewelry and cause discoloration or oxidation of the metal. Stones connected to your jewelry might also be affected by water, chemicals and damp conditions. Therefore, we advise you to not store your jewelry in the bathroom.

Please handle your jewelry with care and avoid collision with hard surfaces, as it could change the shape of the jewelry, damage or cause stones to fall out. This is particularly true for rings, as they are more exposed.

Kindly note that layering a ring with another ring can cause wear and tear, and may affect the stone-setting.


STORING YOUR JEWELRY

It's advisable to store your jewelry in a box or pouch to prevent wear and tear and to shield it from direct sunlight.


CLEANING YOUR JEWELRY

Clean your jewelry with warm water and detergent free soap, or with a professional cleaning kit. 

We recommend your jewelry be cleaned by a professional jeweler once a year to have it last longer. Cleaning of stone-settings should always be done by a professional. Following these instructions will reduce abrasions and prolong the lifespan and luster of your jewelry.


METALS

Toledo exclusively utilizes precious metals such as Sterling Silver 925 and 18k gold.

Sterling silver is considered a ‘soft’ metal. Thicker silver jewelry is more susceptible to dents and minor scratches from contact with surfaces. With time, these imperfections meld, lending a softer appearance to the piece, with cuts becoming less pronounced. Such marks are considered part of normal wear and tear, rather than defects.

Sterling silver naturally oxidizes over time. If you prefer to minimize this process, gently wipe your jewelry with a soft cloth after each wear to remove accumulated dirt and oils. Silver polish works wonders as well.
